The Threshold holds two opposed surfaces in suspension: cracked terracotta and umber earth below, a tall silver-white veil above. Where they approach, pale aqua and warm gold soften the seam without letting the two zones merge. Ridges, fissures and dragged white marks make the contrast tactile, while the narrow horizon keeps the entire image disciplined.
